January 2 is Pajama Day!!!

Attention Patients: Thursday, January 2 is Pajama Day. So, if you have an orthodontic appointment this Thursday, please come dressed in your pajamas and join the members of team Jarrell who will be in their jammies as well. Happy New Years Eve; be safe!

Okay, patients, here's the list of items to wear to your appointments for our final week of the "12 Days of Christmas": Monday: wear Christmas lights; Tuesday: wear a Christmas bow; Wednesday:  wear reindeer nose or antlers; Thursday: wear elf shoes! Patients who come to their appointments dressed up according to the theme of the day are entered to win our $20 Christmas gift card. So, break out your lights, bows, antlers and elf shoes!

Help Us Dress Our Mitten Tree!

When you are out doing your holiday shopping, we would love it if you would pick up a pair of mittens, a scarf, or hat to put on the Jarrell Orthodontics’ Mitten Tree. Each year, we put a small tree up in the reception area that we ask you, our patients and your families, to adorn with mittens, gloves, scarves and hats. All donations will be given to the Salvation Army for distribution to those in need. This year’s donations will not be taken to the Salvation Army until Friday, January 10 which will give us all time to shop the Christmas sales and those wonderful after Christmas sales and clean the stores out of mittens, gloves, hats and scarves for our Mitten Tree. There are as many little hands in Kokomo in need of mittens as ever. If we work together, we can warm some hands and hearts with our generosity. Thank you for all you do for those less fortunate throughout the year!

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Did you know that November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month? It's a great time to remind your patients about the importance of screenings, since approximately 1 in 14 Americans will be diagnosed with lung cancer during their lifetime. These screenings don't apply to smokers only - 18% of lung cancer patients have never smoked in their lives. World Kindness Day

Today is World Kindness Day. Have you ever been the recipient of a "random act of kindness"? Some of the members of team Jarrell have. Carrie, our professional relations coordinator was. Years ago, she was looking for change in her purse to purchase a ticket at the airport for the train to travel into Washington, D.C. A man standing next to her saw her looking for change and gave her the money for the ticket. When she thanked him, he simply told her to pay it forward and help someone else out some day which she has done. One of our orthodontic assistants, Breanna, also had a story to share. She was in the drive through and ordered dinner for 7 people with the bill totaling almost $40 when she got to the window to pay, she learned that the person in front of her had paid the bill and added dessert. She paid it forward by paying for the person behind her. We love hearing stories like these. How do you plan to celebrate World Kindness Day?

Happy 30th Anniversary, Denise!

Today is a big day at Jarrell Orthodontics. Thirty years ago today, Denise Culbertson started her journey as an employee of Jarrell Orthodontics. We want to wish her the happiest of 30th anniversaries and tell her just how much she means to the practice and our patients. Denise is our Office Manager, Treatment Coordinator and jack of all trades. We simply do not know what we would do without her. She is the "go to" person for so much at Jarrell Orthodontics that we could never guess at how many times a day the response to someone's question is "ask Denise". Employees who stay on the job and continue to enjoy their jobs as much as Denise does are rare indeed. So, Happy Anniversary, Denise! It really would not be the same at Jarrell Orthodontics without you!
