Thank you, Kokomo!  We have just discovered that Jarrell Orthodontics has been nominated for best dentist in the 2012 Best of Kokomo. (why not best cookies or coffee bar? We don't know!) But regardless, we would LOVE to have your vote!

Mitten Tree Donations Due December 17

We are still collecting donations of mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves for our Mitten Tree. Several patients had asked about the deadline for donations to the Mitten Tree. As such, we wanted to let you know that our deadline is Monday, December 17. The items on the tree will be taken to the Salvation Army for distribution to those in need on Tuesday, December 18. If you have any questions about this project, please give Carrie Giannakos a call at 453-4261, ext. 18.  Thank you & Merry Christmas!

National Cookie Day!

December 4 is National Cookie Day. According to the theultimateholidaysite.com, cookies were something of a fluke: "It's crazy to think that the cookie was an accident, but back when ovens didn't have temperature gauges, bakers would dribble a little cake batter in the oven to be sure it was ready. Finally someone clued in to the fact that these little edibles were amazing and the cookie -- from the Dutch word keokje, meaning 'little cake' -- was born."

Celebrate World Kindness Day Today!

November 13th is celebrated as the World Kindness Day. A day designated to realize the need for a more compassionate and kinder world.

Origin of the World Kindness Day

World Kindness Movement is attributed to the origination of this celebration. Different groups, aiming for more kindness in the world, got together in a line of conferences between the years 1996 and 1997. On November 13, 1997, they made a ‘Declaration of Kindness’ and with that the World Kindness Day was born.

World Kindness Day Celebration...

It is not like you have to be kind only on this day, but the World Kindness Day is a reminder of the need for more of your kindness in this world. We know that kindness and smile are contagious and they are not going to stop with you, not just with this day. A decision that you take this day and the very small step you put forth will create a chain reaction, creating an impact that you cannot even fathom.
So make an extra effort to be kind today and celebrate World Kindness Day in style!

Logansport Salvation Army Needs Assistance

Attention, friends, please help us spread the word about a situation at the Logansport Salvation Army. At their “Coats for Kids” Distribution Day, they had about 1002 applications, but could only pass out 460 coats. They had to turn away 170 kids without coats because they didn’t have the right sized coats to give. The main areas in which they ran short were boys’ coats in sizes 7 through 12. While they can always take coats (any size) and store them for next year’s drive, they are currently asking the community for additional funds to purchase coats for those kiddos they had to wait-list. This is the first year they have had to do this.

So, if you or someone you know would like to help, please contact them at 574-722-1979. Thank you!
